This week I continued my look at the website that I have been following, Global Fund for Children.
Every week when I get on this website to explore I am always greeted with "Partnering to build a world where all children and youth are safe, strong, and valued." (Global Fund for Children, 2020).
That quote ties in so perfectly with everything that we have been working on in class the past two weeks; equity. The whole goal of this website is to create equal opportunities for each and every child around the world.
I then took a short exploration of their services page, which can be found here. Each organization has support tailored specifically for them. Each partner gets the chance to define the goals that they want to set and meet. This all ties into their theory of change as well as their approach.
What I have found so important about this particular website is that they really do work towards making children feel equal. They work with teams and people to create equal partnerships and build lasting relationships to help children. As educators that is what we do on a day to day basis. We are trying to create equal opportunities for each of our students to grow. This is an important trait for us as educators, to carry into the future.
This is an early childhood education blog run by a teacher, working towards her masters degree at Walden university. This will be a place that I post my work, ask for advice, and do my best to share what it is like being in early childhood education.

Week 6 Blog Post
This week I decided to look at what the global fund for children does when it comes to breaking down boundaries in the lives of children around the world. You can visit their website here.
In one of their Grassroots newsletters, they talk about how there should be good preparation in order to help those in other countries. The program is very optimistic in what they do in order to give children opportunities that would not normally be readily available to them. You can read the article here.
Ther are many other articles that speak on the values that shape their vision when it comes to working with children as well as working with cultures. The goal is to be frugal with resources that they do use. The Global Fund for Children partners with organizations in more than 35 countries. What an amazing amount of work they put forth in order to break down boundaries. You can read more about what the fund does here.
Every week as I delve deeper into the website of the Global Fund for Children, I find more and more of what they do, and how they work to support so many different programs in so many different countries. The amount of work that they do is impressive.
I think that breaking down barriers is important in all aspects of early childhood education. When it comes to the children of the world, it is important to find as many types of communication and support as possible.

Equity for the children
This week, to go with the theme of what we are learning I decided to continue looking at the global fund for children, and what they feel about equity when it comes to the education of children around the world.
When I searched the word equity, they had an amazing amount of articles and other information pop up. Some of the articles can be found here.
I also wanted to explore who the global fund for children partners with in order to see how they are able to create equity. When I looked at their focus areas they included four that were so exciting to be able to explore.
1. Eduction
2. Gender Equity
3. Youth Empowerment
4. Freedom from violence & exploitation
You can look at these four focus areas here
When it comes to these four focus areas the fund says this, "Together with our partners, we are building a future where all young people enjoy equal resources and opportunities in society and can live to their full potential."

Early Childhood Advocates
This week I continued looking at my website the Global Fund for Children. This week I wanted to look through a professional lense when it came to viewing how the fund looks into supporting children and families through politics and economics.
Their main goal is "Partnering to build a world where all children and youth are safe, strong, and valued." This being said I wanted to see how they invest in children around the world.
Check out this video to see exactly what they do:
https://youtu.be/vwb1uJxFUcc
From this video, I was able to see that they seek out extraordinary leaders who are willing to stand up and support children, at any risk. When I think about this I think about how amazing this is. These people are not only working with children but for children. They want to rescue these children and develop positive relationships with these children. They are work to develop the minds of children no matter their current situation. These children want to get off of the street and connect with their families.
This is the type of investment that children need. They need to know that people are there to stand up for them, and to work with them. It is our job to support all children in order for them to thrive.
